Outdoor nature session! |
Bridging the Gap provides place-based, experiential nature programs for children and youth in and around Winnipeg. We approach learning through two-eyed seeing. This approach celebrates the strengths of Indigenous knowledge and relationality, paired with the strengths of Western Forest and Nature programming models in a non-formal, exploratory setting. Students are offered complementary ways to view, appreciate, connect and root themselves in the land they are a part of. Children explore and learn from the natural world and community members around them. We bring and set up enticing experiences with loose parts, tools and resources that are theme or season specific, in natural areas around your site. Including: -Gardening, plant knowledge. -Tree Tapping -Sharing Circles -Art -Nature Play Each session is co-facilitated by both an Indigenous and non-Indigenous educator. This program is approximately 1.5-2hrs in length. |
