Bridging the Gap (BTG) is a unique environmental education program. We provide classrooms and groups in low-income neighbourhoods with free, nature based programming.
We have recently refreshed our program offerings and created a vision for the future. Contact us for opportunities for the 2024/25 school year.
Students are given opportunities to engage in a variety of stewardship activities such as full-day field trips to local natural areas, activities at school, and through the implementation of schoolyard or urban (inner-city community) gardens.
Programs are led using a 'Two Eyed Seeing' approach, celebrating the strengths of Indigenous ways of knowing and being on the land, combined with non-Indigenous facilitation to create an enriching Forest and Nature School experience. Learning is child-led, inquiry based and addresses specific outcomes from the Manitoba Curriculum. Learn more about our programs.
Our programming is offered free of charge to qualifying classrooms. Find out if your classroom qualifies.
